Blastostimulin: What Is It And How Does It Work?

Blasto-Stimulin is an antibiotic-acting healing drug that is used to treat wounds, ulcers, sores, bedsores, and skin burns. In addition, it is used as a supportive treatment for surgical wounds and for skin graft implants.

The gotu kola extract present in its composition is one of those responsible for its healing effect.

Gotu kola is a plant that belongs to the genus Apiaceae , and is used in traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurvedic medicine in India to treat scars. It has antibiotic, antifungal properties and has a cytostatic effect.

This plant accelerates skin healing because it binds collagen and two important amino acids, alanine and prolamine. In this way, it stimulates the granulation tissue and facilitates the reconstruction of the damaged tissues of the dermis.

In addition to the extract of gotu kola, another component of this medicine is neomycin, an antibiotic that covers the wound to isolate it from germs and is usually prescribed to:

  • Sores
  • Bedsores
  • Ulcers.
  • Eczema
  • Intertrigos.
  • Surgical wounds.
  • Unhealed wounds.
  • Certain types of burns.

On the other hand, this component has an anti-inflammatory action and is effective against fungi.

Types of drug presentation
